Friends of Fremont Peak Park
Friends of Fremont Peak Park (FoFPP) is a neighborhood-based, unincorporated association founded in early 2001 to preserve a unique property as a community park. FoFPP is guided by a seven-member steering committee. Seattle Parks and Recreation is the major partner in the project, since it has contributed to acquisition and development funding, and it will have ultimate ownership and management of the park when it is completed.

FoFPP raised over $1.5 million to purchase the property at 4351 and 4371 Palatine Avenue N. in Fremont. We completed fundraising for the development of the park site, worked with landscape architects from the Seattle firm GGLO with artist Laura Haddad, and are now heading into the construction phase. Once construction is completed, FoFPP will adopt the park, acting as stewards and assisting with maintenance and upkeep.

  • Starbucks volunteers have participated in a number of on-site work parties
  • The Phinney Neighborhood Association serves as FoFPP's fiscal agent
  • The Cascade Land Conservancy assisted with strategic advice on acquisition
  • The King Conservation District has provided plants that volunteers are nursing until it is time to replant
  • Our many volunteer supporters who have given time and money to the project and have pledged to continue the work
